The Massagetæ offered horses to the sun, because they were swift. […] Each of these signs answers to a month; so that the sun runs over them all during the course of the year; hence they are called the twelve houses of the sun. […] Horæ or Seasons are supposed to be the daughters of the sun. […] Among the children of the sun, Aurora and Phaeton are the most celebrated. […] The arrows of Apollo represent the rays of the sun.
