In his palace on Olympus, Zeus was supposed to live after the fashion of a Grecian prince in the midst of his family. […] As soon as food was set before the unhappy prince, they came and devoured a portion of it and defiled the remainder. […] Priam acknowledged his son, the prediction was forgotten, and Paris enjoyed all the privileges of a prince of Troy. […] The latter concluded that the Trojan prince was the son-in-law indicated by the oracle, and invited him to his palace. […] The new kingdom was attacked by several of the neighboring princes, led by Mezentius, king of Etruria.
