It is one of two colossal figures which are directly opposite the great temple of Luxor. […] This constellation is represented by the figure of a woman holding scales in one hand, and a sword in the other. […] There are three gigantic figures, richly gilt, which represent the divinity in the past, the present and the future. […] These were shaken up, and from the chance figures they formed, the priests predicted future events.
