So he turned away from them in disgust, and went home and wrote his story about the beautiful woman and the two helpless children, and he put something about the frogs into his tale. […] He was tired and thirsty, and he looked about for some spot in which to rest. […] It would take too long to tell you much about them, for each is a story in itself. […] This story is about another boy whom Apollo loved very dearly. […] Yet I am going to tell you a story which will prove that the Cyclops could love after all, although there was something rough and shaggy about the love, as well as about the lovers.
